Blood Has Been Shed was a mathcore group from Connecticut, formed in 1997. They are popularly known for having in the band both one current and one former member of Killswitch Engage, Justin Foley and Howard Jones respectively, though both groups have quite different styles. Blood has been Shed was one of the first deathcore bands and is widely credited with starting the genre. They have released three albums to date: ''I Dwell on Thoughts of You'' in 1999, ''Novella of Uriel'' in 2001, and ''Spirals'' in 2003.
